The African Association of Visitor Experiences and Attractions (AAVEA) is undertaking the first-ever Benchmark Survey of attractions in Africa. The initial phase focusses on attractions in South Africa and collects data for 2019 and 2020.

Be part of an African first!
The significant benefits to having our own South Africa-specific benchmarking data include:
· Building local attraction business models instead of relying on international benchmarks
· Creating benchmarks by which attractions can track and improve their own performance and financial sustainability
· Raising awareness of the role attractions play in the tourism economy
What you need to know about the survey and how you can prepare:
There are 45 questions and the survey will take less than 30 minutes to complete. The survey collects data for 2019 and 2020, so please have data from those years at hand.
Giving your time to this survey will ensure that we as an industry have objective information on which to base strategic decisions. And from now on, we’ll be able to compare data from year to year to see the real state of the attractions industry.
Please be assured that the data will be aggregated, no responding attraction will be identified by name, and all responses will be kept in the strictest confidence. All responding attractions will receive a copy of the survey report.
Win by participating:
We also have a little incentive!
All survey respondents can enter our lucky draw to win one of five cases of Groot Constantia wine.
Thanks for your attention and remember – for the Benchmark Survey to be useful, we need as many attractions as possible to participate, so whether you have 10,000 visitors per year or 1 million, your responses will contribute to a greater understanding of our industry.
