Sabine Lehmann has worked in the tourism and attractions industry for more than 20 years. Sabine was the Chief Operations Officer for the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa and opened the iconic museum to the public in September 2017. Prior to this she was the Managing Director of Table Mountain Cableway for more than 8 years. During her tenure as M.D she drove the successful international 3-year campaign to have Table Mountain voted as one of the New7Wonders of Nature. Sabine currently runs her own consultancy, Curiositas, focusing on understanding and managing visitor attractions and experiences as well as thefuture of the tourism industry. Sabine’s passion is the art and science of attractions management. She founded the Attractions Africa conference in 2014, the only attractions conference on the African continent. She is now President of the AAVEA Board and Executive Director. Sabine holds a BSc (Log), an MBA and a Masters’ Degree in Futures studies. Her thesis “Understanding the motivations of future middle-class domestic travellers to visit local attractions in South Africa” received a cum laude. Sabine is a board member of the Groot Constantia Trust. She is a research associate for the Institute of Futures Research at Stellenbosch University and participates in the Global Scanning Network for the Copenhagen Futures Institute. Sabine is on the Government Relations Sub-Committee for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Europe, Middle East and Africa.
