The African Association of Visitor Experiences and Attractions has been working diligently behind the scenes to drive growth and deliver maximum value to its members. We are excited to share new developments that position us to better serve our members and the wider industry – strengthening connections, amplifying our voice, and driving meaningful impact across Africa’s visitor experiences sector.
AAVEA joins TBCSA
We are delighted to share that AAVEA has officially become a member of the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA). This important membership strengthens our engagement within South Africa’s tourism sector and enhances our ability to advocate for the interests of the visitor experiences and attractions industry.
This membership aligns us with some of the country’s leading tourism stakeholders, providing a valuable platform to raise awareness and promote the critical role our sector plays in Africa’s tourism economy and community development.
“This membership reflects our ongoing commitment to being an active and influential voice in shaping the future of tourism across Africa. By partnering with TBCSA, we gain direct access to decision-makers and opportunities to advance the interests of our members”, said Mpume Mabuza, AAVEA President and Chairperson.
Through this partnership, we will participate in important policy discussions, support sustainable growth initiatives, and collaborate on skills development and innovation tailored to the unique needs of our sector.
We look forward to engaging with TBCSA members and contributing at the upcoming Tourism Leadership Conference. Together, we can strengthen the visitor economy for the benefit of operators, communities, and travelers alike.
Millvest Advisory appointed as AAVEA Secretariat
As AAVEA continues to grow and support an expanding membership base, strengthening our internal operations has become a key priority. To support this, we have appointed Millvest Advisory as our official Secretariat.
This operational partnership marks an important step in ensuring that AAVEA functions with greater efficiency, structure, and professionalism. Millvest will coordinate administrative systems, support Board and committee activities, and help implement sound operational processes that reflect best practice in association management.
Their scope of work also includes improving internal workflows, supporting compliance, stakeholder management and ensuring that day-to-day functions are well-coordinated and responsive to member needs.
By focusing on operational excellence, this partnership enables AAVEA to function more effectively — creating the capacity we need to deliver sector-wide initiatives, strengthen advocacy efforts, and provide consistent, high-value support to our members.
The appointment of Millvest also signals AAVEA’s long-term commitment to building a stable, well-resourced association that can scale with the sector. With strengthened internal capacity and dedicated operational support, we are better positioned to deliver on our mandate, engage meaningfully across the continent, and create opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and impact in Africa’s visitor experiences and attractions industry.
