They came, They saw. They loved our local attractions.

The IAAPA EMEA South African 2020 summit ,from 27 January to 1 February 2020, was a huge success with 60 international attractions professionals from 19 countries around the world making their way to our sunny country to experience what our local attractions have to offer.

Six days of buzzing activity saw the participants get exclusive behind-the-scenes tours at prominent attractions including Gold Reef City, Zeitz Mocca , interactive panel discussions and two exclusive meet and greet dinners with their local counterparts.

“None of our international participants expected to see such fantastically and passionately managed attractions in South Africa. In Europe, we are mainly have theme parks but South Africa has a rich diversity of them – museums, zoos and aquariums. The main takeaway for us was discovering that even though we are all so different in the attractions industry, we can learn from each other. The South African summit was a wonderful opportunity for IAAPA EMEA and AAVEA to bring their members together”, says Jakob Wahl,Executive Director and Vice President, EMEA Operations IAAPA.
