Our #AAVEA2022 Gauteng regional meetup in photos and video

We are thrilled to share the amazing photos and video of our successful Gauteng regional meetup, held at our partner Javett Art Centre in Pretoria, on Tuesday 21 June 2022!

Our regional meetups are our new way of bringing the latest attractions industry insights, news and learnings to attractions and visitor experiences in their own regions. This allows for better one-on-one engagement with industry peers and enables partnerships to grow organically.

With more than 40 participants in attendance and our board members Hulisani Thabela, Mpume Mabuza and Sibusiso Dlamini at the helm, the Gauteng regional meetup was a huge success. Our host and partner Javett Art Centre treated participants to an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of their site followed by a musical welcome by the talented band Ikati Esengxoweni.

The highly-anticipated first-ever South African attractions industry benchmark survey report was presented by AAVEA’s executive director Sabine Lehmann. The regional meetup’s programme for the day included a welcome by Lekgetho Makola, CEO of Javett Art Centre; a presentation on the art of partnerships and collaboration by Dawn Robertson: CEO of Constitution Hill Human Rights Precinct;  a digital showcase offering insights into the benefits of virtual tours in attractions by Marianda Schlebusch, Manager of Cultural Tourism for the Voortrekker Monument and a presentation on the road to sustainable attractions by Beulah Mosupye, Tourism Development Consultant & Founder of Hauweng Tourism For All.

Here are the photos and video of our AAVEA 2022 Gauteng regional meetup:
