We are mere days away from the fifth annual Attractions Africa conference at the Gold Reef City theme park hotel in Gauteng on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 June 2018 and delegate excitement is at an all-time high!
Here is what to expect at Africa’s premier attractions management conference:
Pre-conference tour:
See the impressive City of Gold sights from aboard the City Sightseeing Bus, which will depart from the Gold Reef theme park at 2pm on Tuesday 5 June 2018.
This not-to-be-missed tour will end with a behind-the-scenes tour and drinks at the Apartheid Museum. While this tour is fully booked, please check if you have registered by emailing registration@attractionsafrica.co.za.
Digital Symposium:
For those who are more digitally inclined, the Gauteng Tourism Authority in association with Flow Communications will host a digital symposium where experts in the field will share the knowledge, competencies, tools and resources required to meet the current and future demands of the digital economy with key focus on destination marketing.

Insightful presentations by the industry’s best:
This year’s programme reads like a list of the who’s who in the attractions industry. The formidable Massimiliano Freddi, Vice President Strategic Development of Leolandia will be chatting about dynamic pricing while Gretchen Wilson-Prangley, founder and CEO of Play Africa, will present her take on creating child-friendly experiences, environments and engagement.

The Attractions Africa conference prides itself on hosting robust and interactive round-table discussions to help you learn and share your experiences. Our 2018 discussion topics include tricks and trends to help move visitors around your site and more.

Conference social:
Mingle with your fellow attractions managers at the conference social, which will be held within the Gold Reef City theme park on Wednesday evening from 5pm. Canapés and beverages, will be served at this event.
IAAPA Certification:
One of our proudest achievements this year is the announcement that our conference has been awarded 10 Continuing Education credit hours with IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions).
IAAPA is the world’s largest international trade association for permanently situated amusement facilities globally. Its certification programme provides members with a competitive advantage and helps maintain the highest industry standards.
