James Beardsworth-Shaw

James Beardsworth-Shaw has 15 years’ experience working within the UK arts and cultural sector for some of the world’s most prestigious and best loved brands. Through roles at Tate, The V&A and The National Gallery he has developed the creative and entrepreneurial expertise needed to deliver cultural agendas through engaging audience strategies and generate much needed revenue.

As an accomplished leader he specialises in delivering strategic transformation at the often-complex intersection between culture, community, and commerce within the context of artistic organisations. He champions the importance of using insight to drive innovation and maintain relevance in a competitive market.

James has achieved sustained commercial growth and customer value across a range of membership, fundraising, marketing, and public programme activity. He is currently the Head of Commercial Services at the National Gallery in London.
